Jungle Timer for all Jungle Monsters, and Minion Timers

Welcome! Here you can learn everything you need to know about League of Legends Jungler Timers. Know when Baron and Dragon respawn, and when Blue Buffs (Golem) and Red Buffs (lizard) are available again.

This is a guide made for Summoner's Rift, but I will include jungle times and buff timers for Twisted Treeline, Proving Grounds (now called Howling Abyss), and Crystal Scar.

NOTE: Currently have information for Summoner's Rift. Information on neutral monsters on other maps will be provided soon.

SECTION 1: Summoner's Rift

The Wolf Camp spawns at 2 minutes and 5 seconds, and spawns 50 seconds after it is killed.

Wolves

The Wolves are located on the left side of the jungle from the blue base, and on the right side of the jungle from the purple base.

The Wolves come with one giant wolf, and two mini wolves. The main wolf is melee and attacks fast, and has a high critical rate.

The Wolf camp does not give any buffs, but killing the Giant wolf does restore a small portion of your health over time.

The Wraith Camp spawns at 2 minutes and 5 seconds, and 50 seconds after it is killed (and 1 minute and 15 seconds at late game).

Wraiths

The Wraiths are located toward mid-lane from both bases. They are located on the right side of the jungle from the blue base, and on the left side of the jungle from the purple base.

Wraiths are relatively weak in terms of HP, but they do a bit of damage. If you are a ranged Jungler, you can attack from the bush closest to middle lane in order to deal a lot of damage before the lesser wraiths attack, and thus saving some HP. The Giant Wraith is ranged.

Upon killing the Giant Wraith, you get a bit of your HP back.

The Golem Camp first spawns at 2 minutes and 5 seconds, and every 1 minute after it dies (1 minute and 15 seconds toward end game).

Golems

The Golems are located at the very ends of the jungle. The Golems are located at the bottom of the jungle from the blue base, and at the top of the jungle from the purple base. Because they are so obscure from the jungler, it's common for bottom lane (if coming from blue base), and top lane (if coming from purple base) to take the Golems.

Both Golems are melee and walk slowly, making kiting them relatively easy.

In the Golem there is a smaller golem and a bigger golem. Killing the bigger golem grants the hunter some of their HP back.

The Wight first spawns at 2 minutes and 5 seconds, and then respawns every 50 seconds after it is killed.

Wight

The Wight is the strongest basic-level jungle monster, and is the newest addition to the jungle in Summoner's rift. Currently the Wight is designed after the wraiths except colored grey, but there are plans for the Wight to get its new design.

The Wight is not essential to kill for most jungle routes, but it's a good choice to kill after taking blue buff too boost your gold and exp gains.

Because the Wight is ranged, the bottom lane of Purple side can kill the Wight from over the wall. It may be a good idea to leave the Wight for your bottom lane if you are purple base.

Ancient Golem spawns at exactly 1 minute and 55 seconds, and respawns every 5 minutes after it has been slain.

Ancient Golem (Blue Buff)

The Ancient Golem can be found on the top side of the jungle (if in blue base), or on the right side of the jungle (if in purple base). For a lot of junglers, especially AP-based junglers, killing Ancient Golem first is essential because it provides Blue Buff.

Blue Buff, or more properly known as Crest of the Ancient Golem, is a passive buff that provides cooldown reduction and boosted mana regeneration. Below are the benefits you get by killing the Ancient Golem:

  • BUFF: 25 Mana regenerated every 5 seconds
  • BUFF: 0.5% of Maximum Mana regenerated every 5 seconds
  • BUFF: Cooldown on all skills reduced by 10%

Blue Buff is only granted to the champion that hits it last before it dies. Blue Buff can be transferred to another champion if they kill a champion that currently has Blue Buff.

Blue Buff lasts for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. However, when Blue Buff is transferred to another champion, the duration is refreshed.

Lizard Elder first spawns at 1 minute and 55 seconds, and respawns every 5 minutes after it has been slain.

Lizard Elder (Red Buff)

The Lizard Elder monster can be found on the right side of the jungle (if in Blue Base), or the left side of the jungle (if in Purple Base). The Red Buff from Lizard Elder is great for ganking. It is usually the first jungle neutral monster killed for Junglers that gank early, or for champions that do not need mana regeneration. The Lizard Elder gives Red Buff to any champion that slays it.

Red Buff, or properly known as Blessing of the Lizard Elder, is a buff given to a champion. Every time the blessed champion attacks an enemy with a basic attack, the enemy gets slowed for a certain amount, and a debuff is given to them that applies damage over time.

Below are the detailed benefits of killing the Lizard Elder:

  • BUFF: When attacking an enemy champion with a basic attack, you apply a debuff that slows them for 8%/16%/24% (or 5%/10%/15% if you're a ranged champion). The slow debuff percentage increases as the match progresses. The slow lasts for 3 seconds, and the timer resets every time you do a basic attack.
  • BUFF: When attacking an enemy champion wit a basic attack, you apply a debuff that does damage to them equal to 8 + (2 x champion level). This damage applies twice in the 3 second duration. This debuff deals true damage, meaning that magic resists or armor does not decrease its damage. The timer resets very time you do a basic attack.

Like Blue Buff, Red Buff is only given to the champion that hits it last before it dies. Red Buff can be transferred over to another champion of that champion kills the buff-holder.

The Red Buff lasts for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, but is reset every time the buff is transferred to another champion.

Dragon first spawns at exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds, and respawns every 6 minutes after being slain.

Dragon

In Summoner's Rift, Dragon is the second strongest monster (behind Baron Nashor). It a monster that applies a debuff to champion it attacks, dealing 60 true damage over 4 seconds, and reducing your attack speed by 20%. The debuff refreshes every time the dragon attacks the champion.

While Dragon doesn't have any buffs to provide to players, it is nevertheless a valuable dragon because it gives the team global gold - 125 to 260 global gold, to be exact (the gold amount increasing as the match progresses). A team that continuously kills dragons gets a huge gold advantage which can help them win a game.

Purple team has Dragon advantage due to the dragon entrance facing their base (and thus, easier to access).

Baron first spawns at 15 minutes, and respawns every 7 minutes after being slain.

Baron Nashor (Baron Buff)

Baron is the strongest monster in Summoner's Rift, and often requires at least three people to kill (unless you are Jax, Warwick, or Nunu). However, the benefits of killing Baron are game-changing.

Baron has five abilities that make him quite tough.

  1. Crowd Control Immunity: Things like stuns and silences cannot be applied to Baron.
  2. Wrath of the Ancients: Increases the damage baron does to a champion by a huge amount.
  3. Voracious Corrosion: Applies a debuff to a target that decreases the damage they do to Baron by 50%.
  4. Sweeping Blow: Baron sweeps his head in an area in front of him, knocking champions back by a small distance. This disturbs channeling abilities such as Fiddlesticks' drain.
  5. Fluid Knock Up: Knocks up all champions that are standing on an appearing green fluid. It's easy to dodge this. This knockup disturbs channeling abilities.

As you can see, Baron is quite tough, so it's highly recommended that you bring champions that can both deal a large amount of damage, a champion that can tank (and perhaps life steal), and one to scout the area just in case enemies try to steal Baron.

Once a team kills Baron, they received a buff called Exalted with Baron Nashor. They also receive 300 global gold and 900 global experience for killing Baron. Below is the buff description for the Baron Buff:

  • BUFF: Increases Ability Power by up to 40
  • BUFF: Increases Attack Damage by up to 40
  • BUFF: Increases Health Regeneration by 3% of the champion's maximum health
  • BUFF: Increases Mana Regeneration by 1% of the champion's maximum mana

This buff last for 4 minutes. However, unlike blue buff and red buff, killing an enemy champion that has Baron Buff does not transfer the buff over.

The Baron Buff is most noticeable for its regenerating properties, as it can help a team recover from taking down objectives and team fights. Because of this, Baron Buff is coveted and is often the reason for tide-turning matches.

Miscellaneous

  • Team minions first spawn at 1 minute and 30 seconds
  • Team minions (melee, caster, and siege) respawn every 30 seconds from the team's nexus
  • Super minions respawn in place of siege minions once an enemy inhibitor is destroyed
